Whiteland is a small town in central Johnson County, immediately east of Interstate 65 between Greenwood and Franklin. It is where I live. The housing is predominantly single family, with a mix of older homes near the town centre and newer subdivision construction spreading outward.
Whiteland's appeal for most buyers is the combination of a small town footprint and quick interstate access. The Interstate 65 interchange puts the Indianapolis south side within a straightforward drive and puts Franklin and Greenwood within minutes in either direction.
The town has grown steadily, and a good deal of the newer inventory sits in subdivisions built over the last two decades. Older homes closer to the original town grid tend to sit on larger lots. Both trade regularly, and they attract quite different buyers, so pricing them requires comparing like with like.
